The demand for high-impact experiential marketing for trade exhibits across multiple expos presents a challenge for logistical agility, high visual impact, and cost efficiency.
Level's client in the BFSI industry operates on a business model that combines the methodology of traditional banking with innovative modern day technology, and offers services such as crypto loans, bank cards, and corporate accounts. They faced a similar logistical complication when they needed a performance-centric exhibit display that reaped ROI dividends across multiple trade show events.
Using reconfigurable exhibit designs and modular, lightweight components, Level helped its client achieve a high-impact trade exhibit through standardized aluminum frames that could be skinned with tension fabrics, rigid panels, and LED tiles, retaining their ability to be dismantled, reconfigured, and shipped in compact flight cases.
The Challenge: The Weight of Event ROI
For our client, the yearly trade show circuit presented a challenge. Their marketing strategy relied on dynamic visual effects and enclosed meeting rooms, which required a comfortable lounge area and high-end AV features. The challenge, however, was that their event calendar demanded different booth sizes - from 50x50 exhibit spaces in CES Las Vegas to 10x20 footprints in smaller trade show events.
For years, the brand had been relying on custom-fabricated steel, wooden, and drywall structures that, while visually appealing, were inflexible. They cost high drayage fees that needed expensive labor to put them together, and couldn't be scaled down for smaller footprints.
Level's client needed a "unicorn" solution - an exhibit that could maximize trade show performance with the agility of a pop-up display.
The Solution: Modular Exhibit Display
Our client chose Level's custom trade show booth fabrication services to come up with a custom-modular hybrid booth setup that centered on three core technologies: lightweight aluminum frames, portable staging systems, and acoustic textile engineering.
Structural Agility: We proposed a disassembled composite frame as a foundation for the entire exhibit that featured a flat metal surface, available in multiple custom colors and finishes, such as brushed or painted metal. These lightweight frames clicked together without needing a wide selection of tools, so the booth's temporary walls could be rearranged in different ways and various sizes. For instance, a big 20-foot video wall could just as easily be broken down into display solutions such as individual kiosks. Moreover, the exhibit modular stand was designed with precise, 90-degree rectangular angles, which made the exhibition display systems modular and highly flexible, allowing easy exhibit installation across various convention centers.
ROI-Driven Performance: Moving away from heavy wooden risers, Level's booth builders opted for aircraft-grade aluminum decks that could fold up to a 2x4 foot footprint, giving a 250-pound per square foot weight bearing capacity, while still weighing 40% less than the traditional alternatives. Our "fifth leg" design component made sure it was rock solid, eliminating the "bounce" effect trade show exhibitors usually get with lighter weight stages.
Acoustic & Visual Integration: The booth featured tension fabric graphics with acoustic foam inside to cut down the exhibition hall background noise by up to 30 decibels, creating a real "audio oasis" for attendees. Visually, the stage backdrop slotted in the LEDskin tiles directly into the hybrid frame system, to get a dynamic motion graphics that could be changed in an instant for different trade events.
Logistics & Execution
The real game-changer here was the disassembly. The entire trade display, including the elevated stage, LED lighting, and flooring, was designed to fit into six standard wheeled flight cases. This "kit-of-parts" approach lets the brand eliminate the need for specialized freight transport for smaller events, often using standard Sprinter vans. The tool-free assembly cut down the Installation & Dismantle (I&D) times from over multiple days to only a few hours, significantly cutting down on specialized labor costs.
The Results: Multi-Event Trade Show Success
Our client deployed its modular design in more than ten cities in eight months. Switching to aluminum staging and frames proved to be cost effective solutions that saved the brand thousands of dollars in drayage fees over the course of the trade show calendar year. The modularity allowed them to take on multiple last-minute exhibit venues they hadn't been able to do before because of logistical complexities. And best of all, the integrated performance exhibition space boosted average attendee dwell time by 18 minutes - which just goes to show that a trade show booth display can be light as a feather and still be a real heavyweight in terms of event ROI and long-term trade show success.
Level's resourceful approach to reusable trade show booths established a sustainable brand presence for our client that will reap dividends for years to come.
